Owas Suriyasri

Owas Suriyasri, a 40-year-old Thai citizen who had been working in Israel since 2021 with the aim of building a house for his family back in Thailand, was freed by Hamas on November 28 after being held hostage since October 7.

Upon his release, Suriyasri received a warm welcome at the Shamir Medical Center in Israel, notably from his country's visiting Foreign Minister, and 17 fellow Thais who had previously been released from captivity in Gaza.
