Liam Or, an 18-year-old chess champion and enthusiastic supporter of the Hapoel Tel Aviv soccer team, was abducted along with his uncle Dror and cousins Noam, 17, and Alma, 13, by Hamas terrorists during an attack on their home in Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7. Tragically, Dror's wife, Yonat, was murdered in the attack.

Liam weas released on November 29, while his cousins Noam and Alma were freed earlier on November 25. The details of their capture and the subsequent days in captivity remained largely unknown, except for the cessation of communication with Liam at 8:14 a.m. on the day of the attack, a detail shared by fellow kibbutz residents.
