Romi Eli Bernat

Romi was at the Nova festival to sell clothes and according to her final Instagram story, she was shot when the terrorists invaded the venue. She said she was unable to run anywhere and wished good luck to everyone escaping this horror.

From Modiin, Romi was a mother of three children, and her daughter, Romi had her birthday 5 weeks ago. One of Romi's friends, Gili, who was also at the Nova festival told i24 News that she knew Romi was shot but due to the confusion and chaos they were separated. Another friend, Shiran, managed to contact Gili: "She told me that they both ran towards the forest. They hid behind bushes and looked at each other with fear. Terrorists were walking around them, they heard talking in Arabic and gunshots. Gili heard them shoot at Romi. She didn't see it because she herself was hiding, but she heard her breathing and sighing." Gili then ran, and afterwards, she visited the closest hospital hoping to find her there.

Unfortunately, Romi’s body was discovered on the festival grounds a few days later, on October 11th, 2023.
