Laor Abramov

20

Laor Abramov, a 20-year-old DJ hailing from New Jersey, tragically lost his life at the Nova music festival next to his friend, Tamar Semet. He was reported missing for several days, with his family holding onto hope after receiving sporadic texts from him on Saturday morning indicating that he was in hiding. Sadly, they later received confirmation that he'd been killed during the October 7 terror attack.

According to his family, Laor grew up in New Jersey and relocated to Israel last year, aspiring to pursue a career following in the footsteps of his father, David Abramov, who is also known as DJ Darwish. “My son, my firstborn, my prince, my friend, my teacher, my leader,” his father wrote in a heartbroken Facebook post. “My musician, my cook, my bashful one… my gentle giant has died. A thousand hearts will remember you forever.”

His mother, Michal Halev, who still lives in New Jersey, wrote on Facebook: “My only son, the love of my life, is gone. The world has stopped.”
