Idan Herman

From Kibbutz Palmachim, Idan was an engineering student at Afeka College, and was killed along with his girlfriend Eden Naftali, 23, at the music festival. Idan called his parents Revital and Avri that morning, telling them that an attack was underway. Revital then heard gunshots as Idan's voice was not heard again.

Idan’s family was called to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba to identify what authorities originally thought was Idan’s body. However, it turned out to be a case of mistaken identity. The temporarily hopeful family was then informed that Idan had been located and had succumbed to his injuries. Avri Herman told the Wall Street Journal that his son was hit with shrapnel in his leg and chest.

Idan, an avid lover of the sea, was buried next to it, in his home of Palmachim.
