Ella Hamuy

26

Ella passed away on November 1st after fighting for her life for three weeks. From Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak, Ella was mortally wounded by gunfire at the Nova festival near Kibbutz Re'im during the events of the massacre on October 7th. She was buried in the Moshaf Beit Arif cemetary the day she died.

Ella came to Nir Yitzhak in the 3rd grade together with her mother Hadas Makias, who joined the kibbutz as the spouse of Nir Yitzhak's legendary rabbi Shaoli Duani who passed away in 2021. Duani was replaced in the position by Rabbi Yaron Shahar, who was killed during the fighting in the kibbutz.

For years Ella worked with the children of the kibbutz, and was very loved. She was supposed to start nursing studies this year. Her friends from the kibbutz told about her, "She always had a smile on her face and she took life easy. She loved to travel, spend time with friends and also to be with her peace and with the modesty that characterized her. She was very loved and we will miss her very much." The publication issued by the kibbutz reads: "Ella, we will forever love and miss your inner and outer beauty, your kindness and your friendship."
