Einav Burstein
Age 39

Both Einav and her husband, Matias were murdered by Hamas terrorists at the Nova festival. Following the harrowing massacre, the whereabouts of the couple became a cause for concern, with mounting fears that they might have been abducted to Gaza. Seeking assistance from the public, their families resorted to posting ads on social media platforms, sharing images and contact details. Eventually, the body of Matias was positively identified, and he was laid to rest in Kibbutz Maoz Haim.
Despite clinging to hope for positive developments regarding Einav's well-being, the community received heartbreaking news. Seventeen days after the tragic event, Einav's body was identified. She was buried alongside Matias at Kibbutz Maoz Haim.
The couple leaves behind three daughters, aged 12 (soon to celebrate a Bat Mitzvah) and 9, who are now orphaned. Guy Avraham, Einav Burstein's cousin, said: "The family is enduring incredibly challenging times. In less than a week, we laid to rest two young parents who leave behind two lovely daughters. They cherished life, relished in moments of joy. The evening before the tragedy, Einav entrusted her girls to her parents in Maoz Haim, while she and Matias returned to Karmiel. They made plans, attending a party from which they never returned."
