Dor Avitan

Dor, from Eilat, was murdered at the Nova festival. He is survived by his parents, Vicky and Avi, along with his brothers Ori and Ron. He was laid to rest in Eilat on October 13th.

A musician and songwriter, Dor tried out for the current season of "Hakochav Haba" (Rising Star), which commenced filming just weeks before the tragic Hamas attack. During the semi-final, the show aired clips featuring three young singers, including Dor, who had auditioned but tragically lost their lives later on. “Dor’s dream was to be here, that everybody would know him,” his mother, Vicky, said on the show, noting that “I brought him with me,” pointing to a photo of her late son. Vicky, told a local news outlet, “Dor was the happy kid of the family, wherever he would go he would bring light. Funny, happy, sometimes annoying, very unique. Just special,” she said. “He wrote songs, he was a talented musician, he was talented in almost everything… Music was his entire life.”
