Awad Darawshe
23

An Arab-Israeli paramedic from Kfar Iksal, and a relative of a prominent figure dedicated to fostering unity between Arabs and Jews, Awad Darawshe tragically lost his life at the Nova music festival near the Gaza Strip while providing medical assistance to injured attendees. Despite pleas from friends to leave, he insisted on remaining to aid the wounded; his body was found with bandages still in his hands. Following his murder by Hamas, his ambulance was reportedly stolen and driven into the Gaza Strip.
The Foreign Ministry hailed him as a “hero” and expressed wishes for his memory to serve as a blessing. Mohammad Darawshe, Awad's cousin, holds a prominent position as the Director of Strategy at the Givat Haviva Center for Shared Society and previously served as Co-Executive Director at the Abraham Fund Initiatives.
