Amitay Malihi
20

A resident of Petach Tikva, Amitay was missing for about two days until his family received the bitter news of his death. "I've always said that it doesn't make sense for a parent to bury a child, and here, it didn't pass over my house," said his mother, Hefchi Malichi, an employee of the municipal center, in pain.
His father spoke with the local news and said “after the whole mess started in the south, I was sent to work at the call center and at 10 o'clock one of my children called me and told me 'Amitay was at the party, and there is no contact with him'. I'm hallucinating, I don't know what's going on with the child. I contacted the Home Front Command, I tried to check the lists we received, a round of calls every fifteen minutes to hospitals, but we received no information. His father came to the center for locating missing persons, one of the sons went to identify bodies in Ramla and nothing. After nerve-wracking days, Hefchi received the bitter news yesterday afternoon. "Representatives of the police and welfare that I know personally knocked on my door. A policeman who was there took me aside in tears and informed me that they had identified Amitai's body.” He continued, “on the one hand it is a comfort that he is found and I know what happened to him, on the other hand I ask why he was there. This is complete confusion. I feel sorry for all the families who are in uncertainty, it's heartbreaking. It hurts more than the painful news. According to police reports, he and several other guys tried to escape with a car but due to pressure they collided with a tree. Two of them who ran away together managed to escape and Amitay and another person did not."
