Eyal Barad tells of family's ordeal in Nir Oz

Eyal, his wife and three young children managed to survive Hamas terrorists' attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz, hiding in their home's shelter. His external security camera captured the scene.

Created in 1955, Kibbutz Nir Oz had a population of approximately 400 people.

Nearly a quarter of the residents of Nir Oz were either murdered or abducted on October 7th.

The kibbutz was invaded by Hamas just after 6:30am.  As was the case in other areas, Hamas attempted to force their way into the safe rooms, shooting into the doors of some they could not open.  Fire was then set to the buildings, and residents who fled the smoke and flames were shot.

38 civilian deaths have been confirmed from the attack on Nir Oz.

75 others were abducted on October 7th.
