Tamir Nimrod

Age 19 when abducted

Tamir Nimrodi, a 19-year-old soldier, was taken hostage from his base near the Erez Crossing on October 7 during that morning's Hamas terrorist attacks. He is a native of the Kfar Sabah in the West Bank and served in COGAT's (Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories) Coordination and Liaison Administration to the Gaza Strip.

On the morning of his abduction, Nimrodi had just gone to sleep when the base came under attack. He had been with friends in another part of the base but had retired to his sleeping quarters as he was tired. When the rocket sirens sounded, he messaged his mother around 6:45 a.m. to inform her of the rocket attack.

Nimrodi was kidnapped along with fellow soldiers Ron Sherman and Nik Baizer. The friends who had remained in the other part of the base survived the attack.

In a video released by Hamas later that day, Nimrodi was seen with other captives, shown sitting on the floor with their hands behind their heads.

Nimrodi's birthday was on November 15, and it was marked during his captivity in Gaza.
