Guy Gilboa-Dalal, a 22-year-old from Kfar Saba, Israel, was taken hostage by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, during the Nova music festival. The attack occurred as gunmen assaulted the festival, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of attendees and the kidnapping of dozens.
Guy had been eagerly anticipating his first rave, which he had been planning to attend with three friends for several months. On the fateful day, his older brother, Gal, also joined him at the festival. They met, shared a hug, and took a selfie together, which Guy sent to their mother.
As the attack unfolded, the brothers attempted to escape the chaos. Guy decided to go with his friends, while Gal headed back to their car. Gal recounted the harrowing experience of running for hours, hiding in various locations, including bushes, a bamboo field, and behind trees, until he was eventually rescued by security forces.
Within hours, their family received a video showing Guy and his best friend in captivity in Gaza. The footage depicted them tied up and lying in a tunnel.
Employed as a software engineer, Guy was known for his deep passion for Japan. He had taught himself to speak Japanese and had plans to embark on a long trip to Japan in just two months He was also a sports enthusiast and a fan of the Maccabi Haifa football team. His cheerful personality, love for laughter, and strong connections with family and friends were notable aspects of his character.
