Eliya Cohen

Eliyah Cohen, a 26-year-old Jerusalemite, was attending the Nova music festival on October 7th with his girlfriend Ziv when Hamas terrorists attacked in the early morning hours.

As the festival attendees tried to escape the chaos in their car, they were relentlessly pursued by terrorists armed with grenades and an RPG. Tragically, both Eliyah and Ziv were shot during this terrifying ordeal.

In a moment of desperation, Eliyah and Ziv sought refuge by running and hiding, clutching each other's hands for support. Their survival instincts led them to find cover among a pile of lifeless bodies, where they attempted to remain concealed. Ziv, who ultimately managed to escape, later recounted the harrowing experience to Eliyah's mother, Sigi Cohen.

Ziv shared the heart-wrenching details of how they hid among the dead bodies and how Eliyah whispered that he was wounded but still alive. Tragically, the situation took a horrifying turn when Eliyah was forcibly taken away by the terrorists. Ziv reported feeling Eliyah being pulled up and placed onto a pickup truck before he was driven away.
