Carmel Gat

Age 39 when abducted

Carmel Gat, a 39-year-old occupational therapist from Tel Aviv, was visiting when Hamas terrorists attacked her parents' home in Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7. The terrorists killed her mother, Kinneret, and took Carmel and several family members captive.

During the Hamas attack, her brother Alon and three-year-old niece Geffen managed to escape their captors, while her sister-in-law Yarden Roman-Gat was initially able to escape but was later recaptured.

Carmel's family, friends, and community have been anxiously waiting for her return and have launched a campaign demanding her release. They have described her as a hero who, even in captivity, demonstrated strength by helping fellow hostages by engaging in activities like yoga in an effort to maintain a sense of normalcy.

While Carmel's family has received some information about her from other hostages who were released, her exact whereabouts and condition remain unknown. They continue to hope for her safe return, emphasizing the need for her to come home.
