On October 7th, Hamas militants abducted Ariel Cunio along with his girlfriend, Arbel Yehud, and Arbel's brother, Dolev Yehud, from their Kibbutz Nir Oz. In his message, Ariel chillingly likened their situation to a "horror film," emphasizing the traumatic and terrifying circumstances they were thrust into.
Ariel's brother David, his wife Sharon, and their three-year-old twins, along with Sharon's sister Danielle and her five-year-old child, were also among those kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on that fateful day.
Ariel’s grandmother, parents, three brothers, and their respective families all lived in Nir Oz. This interconnectedness underscores the strong bonds that tie the Cunio family to the kibbutz, making the events of October 7th even more heart-wrenching.
